When did getting 10K followers become a bench mark for being a social media guru? As far as the facebook stuff goes, when used effectively, I think it works really well for companies or web sites with "brands". Facebook is used differently than Twitter and *generally* users friend and fan people, products, and companies they know and/or love. On twitter, it's much easier to get a large follower and tweet shortened URLs to any web sites. The thing is the company with the brand and identity can be promoted easily on twitter as well.
