Yes, that's obviously correct but it depends on the situation of the needs of a customer. We know that customers don't respond equally all the time. For a change to your last lines I would say that most customers don't have a visionary on what their needs are from your products, then you/businesses better adopt the fastest or a revolutionary technology to attract its customers as it will be obviously beyond their vision!

@Jeff so true! I think the key really comes down to knowing what they want and want to do and then providing them with your best solution to get them there. Gab and I were both saying similar things here just in different ways I believe.

Thanks Gab and you're of course welcome! :) Your post was great and I think we're saying many of the same things just in a different way. 4 Hour Workweek is on my list of books to read - just got bumped up a few spots thanks to that comment! Cheers!

It's alwya a good idea to ask customers what they want. Whether or not that's what you should build is another question entirely.

I'm totally with you on this one. Customers off valuable insight, but ultimately you won't be a very innovative company if you simply do what they ask you to do. If you want to be innovative, you have to have some vision of your own.

hey Kristy,

That's great advice - focusing on the desired end result. And I just sent an email to some folks regarding something I'm developing about exactly that.

Related idea, stolen from the 4 Hour Workweek if I'm not mistaken. Test what they want first and presell it, then develop in response to what gets the best sales. If sales are dissapointing, provide a refund.

Muchas gracias on the links :D.
